WAG Coomera Invitational
      WAG Invitational at Coomera (where the Commonwealth Games gymnastics were held)   The Club sent 6 excited gymnasts to this very well attended competition with in excess of 500 competitors over the one and a half days.  Coach Dana was thrilled with the girls' results as all performed well.  We came home with ribbons, medals and smiles.  Great work to Azailea, Meg, Jasmine, Isabella, Emmy and Anna.     On to Regionals in September now!!
Seniors Week Grant Received
    Redland City GymSports recently received a grant to provide free Seniors classes during Seniors Week to our more mature demographic.   Classes will be held each day from 2pm to 3pm starting Monday 20 August and finishing Saturday 25 August. They will be eld in the Plaza on the Cleveland Showground and will include an afternoon tea and on Saturday a gymnastics display by some of our talented gymnasts. Interclub 2 Day 2

Delta Team Challenge
Our 5 littlies in Wag Level 3 competed in their first ever team challenge at Delta Kedron on Saturday 23 June 2018.  It was also their first non restricted competition.   All five, Emmy, Anna, Jasmine, Meg and Isabella looked great and performed well.  They all enjoyed their first taste of competition at this level and also enjoyed watching the level 7,8,9 10 competition occurring simultaneously.   In a team competition (as in the Olympics) all five member perform on each of...
Interclub 2 day 1 for Trampoline

First WAG competition for 2018

Trampoline Interclub Day 1
On Saturday 10 March, 12 of our trampolinists travelled to Redcliffe to compete in the first trampoline interclub competition.     Our three Level 1 trampolinists all placed in the top 6 - Matilda gaining a 2nd and two 3rds, Ellie brought home two 4ths and Chloe placed 5th and 6th. Great Aerobics Comp at Lismore
  Three of our aerobics gymnasts travelled to Lismore last weekend to compete in the NSW Senior Trial 2.  Lilly, Keeley and Dana brought home 2 silver medals and one bronze medal, enjoyed the friendly competition atmosphere and the long day. Our next competition is the Qld Cup in Nambour at the end of March.
Great Results at First Aerobics Competition for 2018

Charlotte selected to High Performance Squad

Break in at the Gym
  During Friday night 2 February 2018, vandals managed to move a set of soccer goal posts to our gym facilities, break into another Council building and steal 2 fire extinguishers which they then threw through a window in our facility breaking glass and damaging several thousands of dollars of gym equipment.  All our floor mats and some of our sprung floor strips as well as rails and vinyl mats have had to be replaced as there can be no guarantee that the glass can be totally removed....
National Aerobics and National Clubs
Great results from Bendigo. The school holidays saw our Club represented at the Australian Aerobic Gymnastic Championships by our coach Dana who after an 8 year break returned to being an athlete and ranked 7th in Australia.   It also saw a team of 8 of our trampolinists compete at National Clubs and gain the following results Hamish 9th in TRP and 21st in DMT (L4) Amelie  22nd in TRP and 13th in DMT (L4) Emily 49th in TRP and 48th in DMT (L4) Breanna 80th in TRP and 77th in DMT (L4) ...
Interclub 3 Competition
Over this weekend, 46 of our gymnasts competed at the South East Queensland Interclub competition at Carindale PCYC. We had 86 entries over the three disciplines eg Trampoline, Double Mini Trampoline and Tumbling.   With up to 44 participants in some events our athletes did extremely well and the Club managed to come third overall.  Our placings were as follows   Gold Charlie, Rylee and Erin in Trampoline                      ...
We qualified for Aerobics Nationals
  Our Aerobics girls competed in the Aerobics State Championships at Carrara on Saturday 13/8/16. The day was long but all had a great time - two reached their personal best and one, Dana, qualified for Nationals in Bendigo in September.  Well done to all 3.
Talent Development Clinic Trampoline Sports
    The latest development clinic for Trampoline Sports was held last Sunday at Redciffe.   Eight of our talented athletes,  Tiarnay, Ashleigh, Brianna, Tessie, Erin, Hayley, Hamish and Liam, participated and were able to work with Australia's first Trampoline Olympic Silver medal, Ji Wallace .  Ji is a past student of Melanie Tonks who coaches our athletes at Redland City GymSports.  
A higher level at our next WAG competition
After our WAG girls did so well at the YMCA invitational recently, they and their coach opted to have them try to move up a level.  After only 6 weeks of training to learn four new routines, new music and new skills, the five of them competed at the Splitz competition today.  They all qualified for the new level and even managed to bring home a medal - their decision to move up may have been a bold one but it was the right one. Trampoline Interclub 2 Results
Redland City GymSports competed at the Interclub 2 competition at Redcliffe on the weekend of 18/19 June 2016.   We sent 45 athletes to the competition to participate in 90 events across Trampoline,  Double mini trampoline and Tumbling.  In fields of up to 66 competitors per level we did extremely well AND we came third overall.
